In 2004, when Google was first publicly offered on the stock market, founders Larry Page, Sergey Brin and Eric Schmidt agreed to work at Google for the next twenty years. All Mayan predictions aside, where might the great Google giant go with twenty years to grow?
We are currently looking forward to the release of the ChromeOS, a Linux based operating system some say may rival Microsoft Windows, and Chromebooks. Chromebooks are Google’s answer to tablets, which are enjoying massive popularity. Chromebooks will feature a monthly subscription to receive continual operating system updates rather than having to completely ugprade a system.
With their digital fingers firmly in the mobile device market with the Android mobile operating system it is only natural for Google to explore the option of creating their own internet service provider. In fact, some projects are already in the works in this area.
Given Google’s net neutrality position, twenty years of Google growth will, no doubt, see the rise of Google home phone service. Google Talk has already made the first steps in this direction.
